After arriving in Mexico in 2021, Benny reconnected with Buddhism as a way of understanding and being in the world, a connection that began at the age of 16 at the behest of a mentor that rescued him from a deep depression. Singing mantras and prayers, and facilitating devotional song circles that infuse meditation, contemplation, and song has been a way for Benny to integrate his passion for music with his commitment to be in service to community.
